The database contains 1597 types of disease of which 433 have not caused a death in the period 2013 to 2022 leaving 1164 categories of disease causing death to be searched within the database.
There are of course TWO options for searching.
FIRSTLY - You can do a word search. Terms are not case sensetive.
Because the types of disease are nominated by the science-based health interest The names may not align with your understanding of the disease. For argument's sake the term 'cancer' does not appear, although it accounts for the second-highest level of mortality during the period. The classification term for cancer is neoplasms.
The best approach is to use parts of the body that may have been associated with a particular disease causing death such as bowel, arm, neck, eyes, brain. OR abbreviations of the term such as 'sep' for 'Sepsis' or 'cardio' for things to do with the heart or 'plum' for the lungs.
In the physical trauma category, mentioning the object involved wih the death will be helpful. - Such as 'boat', 'train', 'bus', 'horse, 'water' 'vehicle', but to mention a few. [There is 154 of them]
NEXT - You can if you wish scrolls through the whole database.
To do this leave the search window open and hit the "All Data" button and the full database will be delivered on the page. You can then use the FIND function in your browser to sort through the data.
